Angora

Angora is a US variety known for its long coat. Many people maintain that angora and European longhair are the same gene, although the US mice seem to have much better coats when the mice are unselected for coat length than those currently in the UK.

The fancier's angora may also be different from the angora gene, which in 2008 The Jackson Laboratory claimed to have the only known colony of.
